Special Events
Bollywood Cocktail Party (with Tameika and Friends) Our meet and greet,
cocktail party this year will be hosted by Fox and Tameika of Spirits of the
Earth fame. The theme this year is Bollywood Movies! So wear your finest Bollywood
Dress, wax those evil mustaches, wind your bejeweled turbans, wrap those gold
saris and join us on Friday evening for cocktails and camaraderie with friends
new and old. There will be vendors on site to provide Henna Body art. Please
BYOC/M (bring your own cocktail or mocktail). (Staff Note: Elephants may,
or may not, be provided.)
Charity Auction (with The Colonel) - It is a Kaleidoscope tradition
for vendor, artists and other community members to donate articles and services
to auction off for charity. This year's charity is yet to be decided. Stay
tuned!
Children's Bardic Circle (with Hobbes and Friends) Singing. Dancing.
Stories. Music. Performance Art. This event will be much like Bardic Circle,
except it is geared towards performers in the under-teen crowd. The crowd
is more forgiving, our less polished kinder-performers will get expert advice
on polishing their bits, and anyone can be on the bill. And, No
there
will be no adults as pre-show warm up! No pressure, no judgment, all fun.
Kaleidoscope Reborn Discussion (with Lady Pamelia and Mystery Guests)
Mysteries will be revealed. (Staff Note: Don't ask what this is about until
Fest or it will ruin the surprise.)
Music Mania Show Tunes Sing Along (with Laurie Two) - Darlings, darlings,
darlings! Dress up and come uptown for a night of singing show tunes. Some
song sheets will be around, but try to bring your own, too. We look forward
to singing along with your favourite number.
Night of the Oracles (with a host of Diviners) There are those with
the sight of divination in almost every tradition and path. A night of oracles,
foretellings and divination will be held on one evening in the Area 51 Cabin.
This is a fun night to go and seek guidance to make choices on your personal
path, and see how various divination traditions are applied.
Redneck Games (with Bubba) Once again, Bubba and the Merry Band of
Rednecks will take to the beach (or wherever they passed out last) and host
the 2nd ever KG Redneck Games. Last year there were 'aight' competitors to
the contest. However, it would seem that the women-folk decided they were
not "redneck" enough to join in. Bubba wants to make this perfectly
clear
female humans are encouraged to show some of these boys how things
are really done. What are the events this year? Hah
Like we would tell
you that in advance! However, if you would like participate, please see Bubba
or one of the other rednecks the day before the games to ensure that the supply
of props does not run out. Bring your lawn chair, plaid shirt, ball cap and
chewing tobacco, and prepare for a wee bit of insanity and see if you have
what it takes to join the Bubba Clan.
Siren's Swim To honour the Water Spirits we will be taking the opportunity
to enjoy the pond in the cool of the evening. Join us by torch light at the
beach for a night time dip. You are encouraged to swim with a buddy, and children
must be accompanied by an adult in the water. Feel free to swim in costume,
as it can get chilly! Remember that you have to sign in and out, and you can
not be inebriated or you will be refused.
Vernissage (Art Show) The artistic talent in our community is amazing.
Works of art both visual and written will be on display at the Gazebo. There
may even be an opportunity to discuss the works with the artist. A selection
of wine and cheese will be provided. (Staff Note: Remember, darlings. Be elegant!)
Viking Raids (Scavenger Hunt) Get a team of four fellow raiders together
and meet at the Firepit. You will then receive your list of items to pillage.
All in fun, Vikings were quite refined people and had great manners, so remember
to ask before pillaging the necessary items with the promise to return them
afterwards. Be prepared to make deals with the villagers!
